Junk! The Musical

My new musical Junk! will be performed at the Vancouver Fringe Festival in September. It is an original musical with all the music played by instruments made from junk. I spent the past few months building instruments - a wheel barrow bass, a garbage can cello, a violin from a baseball bat and paper maché, many percussive instruments, and more. That is my focus right now, so I will be putting more time into updating the Junk! blog over the summer. Check it out!

The Country on the Coast Concert in two weeks has been cancelled due to illness with the promoter. So close ...

'Country on the Coast' Music Festival

I will be performing at the 'Country on the Coast' Music Festival in Powell River on June 15th, 2014. This will be unplugged, I'm really looking forward to it!

I have just posted my music to this site under the 'Music' tab. I will have two additional new songs before the 'Country on the Coast' performance, which I'll post in a few months.

Promoting

An agent will be taking my music over to the Midem music conference in Cannes, France in February 2014, more for synchronization rights for use in film and TV, so we'll see what happens.
I've applied to play in a bunch of BC concerts for next summer, gotta wait and see what comes of those applications.
And finally, I am writing a show called 'Junk!' for the Fringe Festival in Vancouver in September 2014. I find out early December if we get into one of the Granville Island theatres. This show is a music show which does not use any musical instruments, just sounds from junk.
I'll be posting clips of my new music on this site in the next month in preparation for Midem, so stay tuned!

Music Video Release!

I released the music video a few days ago. It's going well, many have seen it on YouTube and Facebook. People are so nice, very encouraging comments. I'm now checking the film festivals that have a music video component.

Shooting My Music Video 'Better Than Me'

We had a great weekend video shoot for this music video. We turned the house into a movie set. The crew worked tirelessly around the clock, as we could only film at night since that is when the action took place. We set up hoses for the rain and huge lights for outside ambient light. The colours came out beautiful and the footage amazing. Post-production of the video took alot longer than I expected, but it is now close to completion. Stay tuned, it’s coming soon!
